An Apron Card and a Picnic Layout
July 8th, 2009 by Amanda

Sorry for the bit of blog snoozing on my part the last week and a half! I know you were probably worried I was going to go into one of my long silent spells — weren’t you? Well…SURPRISE!! Here’s more photos of a project(s) we created in last month’s Stamp Club.
Confession: I had so much of that Bella Rose checkered Designer Paper left I had to do something with it before it retired! To me it always looked like a picnic tablecloth so it is what inspired the layout and card. I’d also had an apron card hanging in my stamp studio forever and was constantly being asked about it. To me…it’s an old idea, but as always, we’ve gotta remember that new stampers are always coming and going and we need to resurrect these ideas quite often to keep up!
Funny thing I learned about this project that frustrated some of my stampers — double dipping the cherry stamp. I had them stick the stem part of the stamp in Basic Brown and then the cherry part in Riding Hood Red. After several times of doing that and stamping the cherry, they were OVER IT!
) Most of them decided to just stamp in red and color the green leaves. And it looked great!! Ahhh..hindsight is 20-20!
Project Recipe:
Bella Rose Designer Paper (retired-but our new Rose Red Pattern DP has a couple selection that will work just as well!)
Oval All Stamp Set
Tart and Tangy Stamp Set
Riding Hood Red Ink
Basic Brown Ink
Garden Green marker
Wide Oval Punch
Eyelet Border punch
5/8 Chocolate Chip ribbon
1/4 Chocolate chip ribbon
Earth Elements brads (retired)
Earth Elements buttons (retired)
Whisper White CS
Chocolate Chip CS

Oh…and the ant stamp is from Bugs and Kisses — still hanging around in the catalog after many years! So cute!
Great Stuff!!!
Oh..and I thought I’d share the Shell Layout the coordinated with the card in the previous post!
