Somethin’ Fishy’s Been Goin’ On!?
May 14th, 2009 by Amanda
I’m hooked on the Just Beachy stamp set!
The first idea that came to mind when I decided to showcase this stamp set for a blog tour was this cute Tackle Box!! Believe it or not, it was created with the Box #2 Big Shot die in the current Stampin’ Up! Catalog/Idea Book.

The box really opens from the top like a suitcase, but I switched it around with just a few snips and the addition of the Hodge Podge Hardware holding the fish. But, of course, the over achiever in me couldn’t stop there. OH NO!! I had to make a pop-up inside, too!
To create this, I popped out another Box #2 from the Big Shot but this time folded it the traditional way, cutting off the top and folding it down halfway to shorten it so it could fit inside the main tackle box. Punch out two word windows and cut them in half. Attach the two halves together with a brad and then attach to the box. WHAT FUN!!
This is a great Father’s Day box to put a gift card in the bottom (how about a sports retailer for him to use on fishing gear) and some hooks, a bobber or whatever for the dividers in the top! Watch your favorite fisherman grin when he gets this for his special day!
Since I had to buy gummy worms for my picture, I decided it would be fun to create this little Place Holder (use it on Father’s Day to mark dad’s spot and keep the theme going!) It’s just a open tuna can covered with stamped Whisper White card stock. EASY PEASY and oh what fun!

Finally, I created this cute scrapbook page and card for my upcoming Card and Scrapbooking club class and figured you enjoy it as a little bonus since we were focusing on this awesome stamp set!
So what do you think? Isn’t it a great set? Jot a few comments, feedback or questions on the projects on this blog! I love reading what you think and would be happy to help you in any of your creative endeavors! I can’t get enough of your posts! Oink…oink…I’m a post-reading hog…oink…oink! HA! HA!

Oh my word! That tackle box is absolutely fabulous. My DH usually says that even the ‘masculine’ cards are still too frou-frou, but wait until he sees YOUR pop-up.
