Raspberry Tart Butterfly

February 15th, 2009 by Amanda

Backwards Butterfly?

What? When I was photographing this card, I sure do wish I had remembered to photograph how this card opened! Now you have to rely on my descriptive skills! Lord help ya!

This card was created for my recent Creativity for a Cause Catalog Catwalk. (See previous post for that event info) to showcase the new Butterfly die, Texturz plates and of course our newest and greatest machine the Big Shot! The more I use this thing, the more I LOVE IT!

Okay, so how is this backwards? Well the Regal Rose card is actually the thing that is backwards. The fold is actually on the right-hand side instead of the left-hand side, making this card a trifold card. First, you open up the Scallop die side to the left like normal then you open up the Regal Rose part of the card to the right. Capiche?

This was another one of those cards that did not make the Ronald McDonald House donation pile and most everyone took it home. VERY POPULAR! In fact, if the surveys collected are any indication of some upcoming purchases coming my way, I believe the Big Shot will be arriving in some homes very soon!  Bwaa haa haa… I love it  when my evil plan comes together!

Okay–so again, this card will be one I’m creating for one of my Hawaii trip swaps. This one will go in Dania Welch’s Big Shot card swap…so no copying trip achievers! This card primarily uses the Big Shot with just the greeting, background stamp and an inside greeting stamped. Even though the butterfly overlaps to the outside of the normal dimensions of a card that fits our medium-size envelopes, it can still be mailed in that sized envelope. That’s one of the beauties of this die! Since you must fold the card stock over and line it up on the edge of the die before you run it through, the butterfly can fold over in half on the card cover and fit inside the envelope anyway! YEAH!

PS. Did you notice that I gave that overworked Petal Pizzaz stamp set a break?

PSS. But, did you note I snuck in that Raspberry Tart paper again? Man, my poor computer screen sure is tired of getting licked when that paper is displayed! So YUMMY! (The paper not the computer screen silly!)

PSS. Any reason why all these wonderful masterpieces I’ve been posting haven’t been getting any love? Send me some love folks! A girl can’t live on posting alone! Feedback is just a blast to read so how about some comments? PWEEZE?

Movers & Shapers Meets Petal Pizzaz

February 14th, 2009 by Amanda

PETAL PIZAZZ CUTENESS!

Can you tell I love this stamp set yet? But even more I love, love, love the new Curley Label Movers and Shaper die! And what I love, love, love the MOST is our corduroy buttons. You just can’t help but rub your fingers over them with glee!

It just never seizes to amaze me how clever Stampin’ Up! is in coordinating and bundling products that all work together! Right? Just check out how the pumpkin rickrack ribbon from the Pigtail Ribbon Originals coordinates with the button that coordinates with the Always Designer paper!

We did this project at my recent Creativity for A Cause Catalog Catwalk! A long and fancy name for product unveilings and cardmaking for the Ronald McDonald House!

It was at this $10 event that my customers came and made 6 six cards (all using new products, like the Movers and Shapers die, the new Texturz plates, Circle Scissors, etc. I’ll unveil more of these projects later!) voted and kept their top three and donated the other three to the Ronald McDonald House. Funny thing is that not very many people donated this one! It was definitely a FAVORITE!

So much so, I’m going to be using this card in one of my Stampin’ Up! Hawaii trip swaps. It’s just around the corner! WAHOO! So, you Hawaii trip achievers, don’t be copying this card for Carol Nordquist’s swap. This is one that I’ll be doing!
