Christmas Countdown Cookie Sheet

November 19th, 2008 by Amanda

When I first planned my Christmas Countdown class, I’d initially said I would use a wooden tray. All those plans when down the drain after the purcase of one of these trays from my local crafts store—IT DIDN’T FIT!!  So, off to Plan B I went! Thank goodness for my new recruit, Anna Otten! She suggested a cookie sheet! DUH!!  It’s a perfect fit, affordable and metal — great for magnetic numbers! WAHOO!!

If you’d like to make one of these for yourself, come to my class Thanksgiving weekend! While out shopping that weekend, pick up a cookie sheet and come my way at 4 pm Sat., Nov. 29! Or, if you’re too busy, just order your Christmas Countdown Class TO GO!! Purchase an additional $25 at class, or with your Class To Go and I’ll give you the Bonus Buttons magnets for FREE!!

I can’t tell you how easy this class is AND FAST!!! The class includes the Christmas Countdown Decor Elements including the numbers 1 through 25. As you can see pictured here, I easily rubbed the numbers onto some white chipboard (from the back of your Designer Series packets) and punched them out with our Wide Oval punch! What a breeze! So, if you do take your kit to go, you will need to own the wide oval punch or be willing to cut  your numbers out differently.

The class includes the $14.95 Decor Element and some of our NEW! (from the Holiday Mini Catalog) 1 1/4" Riding Hood Red/Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon.. The cookie sheet is extra and the cute button magnets are a bonus! Hope to see you in class. You may register at http://novcountdowncalendar.eventbrite.com

Punchy Santa Stumped Ya!

November 11th, 2008 by Amanda

Last week, I issued a challenge to guess the punches in this post, Get Punchy with Good Ol’ St. Nick.

Wow…and several of you were "Oh So Close!" I figured I’d better alleviate the suspense and list the punches here:

Santa Hat: Word window punch, Small Tag punch and 1/2 circle punch (some of you would have had it had you listed the SMALL

Santa Face: 1 1/4" Circle punch, Horizontal Slot punch, 1/4′ circle punch, Scallop circle punch and 5 petal punch (mustache)

Good try, stampers!! Good try!

Twofer Tuesday with Upsy Daisy

November 11th, 2008 by Amanda

It’s kinda fun showing different card designs using the same stamp set! So, I figured I’d try too do it again this week. The above sample was created for my September or October techniques class (too many classes have occured since then and have blurred my memory.) This particular card uses the "Rolling Marble" Technique and created quite the noisy ruckus during class rattling those marbles around in an empty stamp box. It’s a pretty cool technique!

This card was created for a 100 card swap I participated in earlier in August. What was I thinking dry embossing 100 cards is beyond me!! Luckily I had help with the white embossed flowers (thanks Dena!) and took the dry embossing part with me when we went to Cancun. (can’t be in that boiling sun 24/7 — we got fried the 2nd day!)

And, as a 3rd selection with this set, revisit this post Upsy Daisy Tango in Tangerine.

Scarecrow CD Photo Holder

November 9th, 2008 by Amanda

This fun project was enjoyed by my stamper friends this weekend at my Nifty Gifty Stampin’ Extravaganza. I thought it would be a great gift to take with you to Thanksgiving as a gift for a loved one. Fill it with photos of Thanksgivings past, Pumpkin Patch photos or Fall Festivals or leave it blank for them to fill in with this year’s festivities.

This project was pretty easy and only took about a half an hour in the three hour class that was filled with gifty goody projects. Most of the time was spent watercoloring a few images but some customers just opted to color at home as they were anxious to guarantee they would complete the other fantastic projects.

They were able to use the new rope twine available in the Holiday Mini Catalog along with the Ski Slope Designer Series paper.

As you can see above, I took one of the images from the stamp set and cut it to make two die cut images for the CD book.

Project Ingredients

Stamps: Happy Blessings Stamp Set

Paper/Card Stock: Ski Slope Designer Series paper, Chocolate chip, Old Olive and Naturals White

Accessories: 1" Circle punch, Earth Elements Watercolor Crayons, Aqua Painter, Rope Twine and Linen Thread

Other: CD cover from Effectuality.com

There were a couple more pages but you get the drift! Great project and great fun!

Twofer Tuesday – Same Set, Different Look

November 4th, 2008 by Amanda

Here’s a comparison of how one stamp set can look totally different by changing up colors, using a different technique or card layout. Above is late post from my Technique Freaks class a couple months ago using the Split Negative Technique. Below is a Flap card using the same stamp set, Eastern Blooms. Isn’t that wild?
