I looked and looked like a crazy person for an hour this morning for this card. I wanted to post it with my other Halloween goodies and finally gave up looking for it and posted what I had. HA!! Lo and behold what did I find this evening? Yup–the elusive card. Wanna know where it was? Put on display—huh? You’d think I would have looked there? What a do-do head!
Anyway, this card was the last of the unposted Halloween cards I’d created this month and I figured my window of opportunity pretty much shut after today! I created this card for my Techniques Freaks class last month. The technique is Frosted Filter. Yup, the Halloween scene is stamped on a tie dyed coffee filter. Cool, huh?
I thought the Spooky Spider Decor Elements was cool when it came out displayed on a mega jar from Target but I just couldn’t fathom where the heck I’d be storing that thing all year long! Then, I was in Michaels one day and i came across the $1 Sand Bucket and shovel and I knew this would be much more doable! No worries over breakage here and a cute lil’ shovel to hand over candy to boot!
Then yesterday, I was making plans to meet my sister, sister-in-law and nieces and nephews for some photo fun at the pumpkin patch and I decided to make some treats for everyone. So here’s what I came up with:
For the 14 month old nephew who’s not at the candy-eating stage, there’s animal crackers:
For my 3 and 4 year old nieces, there are tins with candy, stickers and a mini pedicure kit and for my sister and sister in law tins with candy, pumpkin nail files and a funky pair of Halloween socks (all found for 50 cents each at the Target Dollar Spot):
As you can see from the tins, I was having loads of fun using Stampin’ Up!’s Chills and Thrills rub-ons. Boy, between these and the Ghostly Greetings Designer paper, all these projects were a quick and easy! You can even see here in a close up that I even used the rub-ons on the grosgrain ribbon!
Isn’t the mini Spooky Spider from the rub-ons cute on this mini tin? Of course, the spidey treats were easily created with our Scallop Circle and Photo Corner punches, googley eyes and our white gel pen for a spooky smile!
Finally, for my older munchkins, I had to get a little less cutesy:
I used the Big Shot to create the pouches with the same Designer paper, added a few of the rub-ons and just stamped a topper using the Just Jawin’ stamp set! It was just about an hour of fun to create all these treats and I know that when they are received I’m going to be inundated with hugs. Now that’s worth it! After all, one can’t have too many hugs! )
This was one of our projects at our recent stamp camps this month. Yes, I know, you’re really sad you missed it, huh? It is also a project that is a lesson in patience. My dear customers had a difficult time holding back their enthusiasm and their heat gun when it came to making this project. Stamping on candles requires a lot of patience as overheating will pool the wax and cause you to have a bumpy candle. Check out this link Stamp On Candles to learn how! The biggest mistake most studentx make when creating a candle is holding the heat gun too close to the candle. If you’re able to be patience, hold the heat gun a good six inches away from your candle and WAIT…patiently…for the wax to melt and soak into the tissue paper, you will master this project!
Project Ingredients:
Scandanvian Season Stamp set
Scandanavian Stampin’ Around Wheel (candle bottom)
Gold Encore pad
Gold Embossing Powder
Ruby Red marker
Old Olive marker
Riding Hood Red Ribbon
Silver Cording
Large gusset cello bag
White Stazon Pad
To create the cello packaging, ink up your image in Stazon White and stamp it randomly all over the cello bag.
This cute little project was one of the six projects my customers created during my Fall stamp camp. Mr. Twigster stole my heart when I first saw him in the Holiday Mini catalog. But the real love began when I saw the $13.95 price tag! Yes, can you believe it? I knew I’d want to do a diorama card with him right away, too. He’s just to dog gone cute, isn’t he?
Thanks to Chris from Calgary for pointing out that the stamp set I used in the previous post was NOT Fall Flair but Happiness Always! See what I get for being in a hurry! I looked at the wrong set in the catalog! Mea culpa!
This adorable card could be the final touch of any Spring Fashion ensemble. It’s kind of hard to believe that it actually came from the Hostess set called Fall Flair. Just goes to show you that it’s all about color!! I think this set needs another name….or just call it Flair! )
Anyway, this was a project from last month’s Tampa Stamp Vamps meeting. They created six projects all using the Big Shot in creative ways. It was fun! In this particular project I wanted them to see how you could fold your card stock and create a shaped card from any of the dies. This one is cutie patootie!
Materials:
Fall Flair Stamp Set (Level 3 Hostess Set)
Ski Slope Designer Series Paper (Holiday Mini catalog)
This stamp set as been a favorite ever since it came out in our catalog a while back. This card was another one I did for the Word Window punch class I had last month, and pieces of it was used in this recent posted card. There are so many GREAT things, like the card I did here, to use this all-ocassion set that every one of my customers should own it! ) And guess what? It’s on sale this month! Wahoo! We’re celebrating Stampin’ Up!’s 20th birthday, so check out the sale here.
This card, called the double slider card, can be created with so many different stamp sets, too. But, Crab & Company is my favorite! Go to http://stampingwithlori.com/Tips_Pages/Double_Slider.htm as to how to create this card. You’ll love it!
This was one of the cards I did about three weeks ago during my Word Window punch class. This class was a little different than my usual outside-the-box cards as it concentrated on "moveable" cards that the Word Window punch can do. This particular card was a pop up card…so easy to do with the Word Window punch.
To make the pop up portion of this card, just cut a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of card stock and fold in half. On the fold, punch your Word Window punch 3/4s of the way in two times about 1 1/2 inches apart. At the top and bottom of where the two punches line up, score between. Then push your card stock inward at that point to make a little shelf as shown.
All I did to create the fence image was emboss it, cut it out and glue it to the front of the pop up shelf. You can see here that I also created a little shelf for the owl just with the quick snip of my scissors.
You can’t really tell here, but all the white dots were really glittered dots for stars that really makes this card.

Halloween Frights Stamp Set (Holiday Mini catalog)
When this stamp set was on sale last month, I wanted to come up with an alternative way to use it then camping! Brent Steele had made a stinkin’ cute "flying" bear card at convention that I tried to figure out. (It took me two hours and I nixed the idea as it would have driven my customers CRAZY trying to create the movable arms!) I tried to mask the bear next to another bear to try and make it look like their arms were around each other and that didn’t work. Then I had two bears holding a jump rope (there’s a perfect rope ribbon in the Holiday Mini) with a third jumping rope but just couldn’t get it to my satisfaction. Finally, this card popped into my head. Of course, by that time my poor brain was fried and I was getting silly! I thought, "Aww! Let’s have the mosquito give the bear skeeter spray for Christmas. This way they can be friends and the skeeter won’t bite the bear." Of course, my class members didn’t understand why I had a mosquito on a Christmas card until I explained my warped sense of humor. But, alas, only a few "got it!" )
The Santa hat and present came from the Crab & Company stamp set, which is on sale this monthas part of our Birthday Celebration! I LOVE the Crab & Company set and it sells well here in Florida so I’m hoping this little card will make folks want it even more! ) Who knows what other stamps that hat and present will go with???
